Et cette nouvelle exposition de la Galerie Da-End le démontre, d'une certaine manière, en éclairant l’étrange relation que Céline Guichard entretient avec le fantastique japonais et en particulier avec l’incroyable tradition des Yôkai.
Ce n’est pas le seul ingrédient de cet univers visuel protéiforme. Il y a, en toute logique, de nombreux ingrédients occidentaux : les évocations baroques, le grotesque roman, le fantastique XIXe, le surréalisme bien sûr et même les influences du Comics US et de l’imagerie punk-rock des années 80...

There is a universality of the fantastic.                 And this new exhibition at the Galerie Da-End demonstrate it, by putting in light on the strange relationship between Céline Guichard and the Japanese fantastic, and in particular the incredible tradition of Yôkai. It is not the only ingredient of this multi-faceted visual world.                               One can find, logically, several ingredients from Occident: the Baroque evocations, Roman's grotesque, the 19th century fantastic, Surrealism of course, and even influences of US comics and the punk-rock imagery from the 1980s...
