L'exposition "HighBeam" d'Irène Billard est une invitation au voyage dans l'espace intérieur d'une jeune artiste, au travers de ses interrogations, ses obsessions et ses exutoires. Outre la qualité de son travail, qu'y a-t-il dans la tête de cette jeune artiste fraîchement diplômée qui suscite d'emblée l'intérêt ?

Un premier élément de réponse pour Irène serait son ambivalence, d'un côté un univers assez austère, d'un être distant en questionnement sur la mort, peut être dû à la rigueur d'une éducation reçue en école privée catholique de jeunes filles, et de l'autre une nature tranquille et lumineuse, capable d'extraversion et d'ouverture aux expériences humaines et à ses réjouissances.

Irène Billard’s exhibition High Beam is an invitation into the private world of a young artist. We journey with her, through her intense scrutiny, her obsessions and her creative outlets. Apart from the obvious quality of her work, what was it about this recently graduated woman which has sparked such interest?

A first response acknowledges Irene’s own ambivalent nature. On the one hand it conjures up a rather austere universe and a remote being incessantly questioning the meaning of death. However on the other hand we encounter tranquil and luminous being, capable of extroversion and openness to the experiences and joys of mankind.
