La Galerie Da-End se réjouit de présenter pour la première fois au monde le travail de l’artiste japonais Daīchi Mori (大一 孫), à l’occasion d’une exposition collaborative avec le vidéaste franco-colombien Nieto (1979-).

Daīchi Mori est un dessinateur autodidacte à la biographie pour le moins elliptique. C’est au cours d’un récent voyage dans l’archipel nippon que Nieto a eu vent du talent subversif de cet artiste farouche qui produit en secret une œuvre picturale aussi ambitieuse que déconcertante. Grâce au concours de la grand-mère de Mori, Nieto se voit confier plusieurs œuvres originales de ce dernier en vue de les exposer en France. Ebloui par la qualité de ce legs, il propose alors de réaliser le portrait de l’artiste sous la forme d’un court documentaire. The Galerie Da-End is pleased to introduce to the world for the first time the work of Japanese artist Daīchi Mori (大一 孫), on the occasion of a collaborative exhibition with the French-Colombian video artist Nieto (1979-).

Daīchi Mori is a self-taught cartoonist with a pretty elliptic background, to say the least. During a recent trip to the Nipponese archipelago, Nieto heard talk of the subversive talent of this ascetic artist who secretly produces a pictorial work both ambitious and disconcerting. Thanks to the help of Mori’s grandmother, Nieto was given several original artworks in order to exhibit them in France. Impressed by the quality of this endowment, he therefore offered to make a portrait of the artist in the form of a short documentary. This unconventional film, shot not without trouble, will be screened here exclusively. (…)
