Empreintes de pensée animiste et d’une spiritualité née de la rêverie, les œuvres de Cendrine Rovini dépeignent un univers pastoral et fécond où se rencontrent nymphes éthérées, créatures métamorphes et végétation profuse.

A travers le corpus d’œuvres sur bois, drap ou papier présenté à la galerie, l’artiste transpose visuellement ses souvenirs imaginés du locus amoenus, cet « aimable lieu » où viennent se reposer les âmes des vivants dont l’on retrouve les premières descriptions dans la littérature gréco-latine de l’Antiquité. Elle rend ainsi possible l’accès aux lieux enfouis de la mémoire et déroule, au fil de son pinceau, l'écheveau complexe de son paysage mental.

Filled with animist thought and a spirituality born from dreams, Cendrine Rovini’s artworks depict a pastoral and fertile world where ethereal nymphs, shape shifting creatures and an abundant vegetation congregate.

Throughout the body of works on paper, wood or sheet displayed at the gallery, the artist visually transposes her imaginary memories of the locus amoenus, this « agreeable place »  described since Antiquity in the Greco-Roman literature and where the souls of the living come to rest. She therefore makes possible the access to memory’s buried places and unwinds, in the course of her brush, the complex skein of her mental landscape.

Project room : Jean-Benoist Sallé - Lever d'Aurore

Faisant lui aussi état d’oscillations et processus intérieurs, le plasticien Jean-Benoist Sallé investit la project room d'une installation conçue spécialement pour le lieu. Il inaugure ainsi une série d’expérimentations in situ, au fil desquelles le visiteur pourra s’immerger physiquement dans l’œuvre présentée.

Also stating interior processes and oscillations, artist Jean-Benoist Sallé invests the project room with his installation, Lever d’Aurore (Crack of Dawn), created especially for the space. Thus, he inaugurates a series of in situ experimentations, through which the visitors will be physically immersed in the artwork.
