La Galerie Da-End invite cet hiver la sculptrice néerlandaise Carolein Smit à exposer ses œuvres pour la première fois aux côtés du peintre allemand Mike MacKeldey à l’occasion d’une exposition en duo intitulée ‘Paizô’.

Du grec παίζω (paidós « enfant »), Paizô est un terme lié aux notions de jeu, de moquerie et de divertissement. Il y a quelque chose de cet ordre-là dans la rencontre explosive des deux artistes qui, chacun à leur manière, participent d’un même mouvement de subversion de la tradition. Leur dialogue a pour objectif de susciter l’interrogation et la surprise, un soufflet salutaire en temps de conformisme.

This winter, the Galerie Da-End invites the Dutch sculptress Carolein Smit to show her work for the first time alongside that of German painter Mike MacKeldey, on the occasion of a duo-exhibition titled ‘Paizô’.

From the Greek παίζω (paidós « child »), the term Paizô refers to the idea of playing, teasing and entertainment. There is something of that kind in the explosive encounter of these two artists who, each in their own way, participate in one same movement of subversion of tradition. Their dialogue aims to arouse questioning and surprise, a salutary slap in such times of conformism.
